Leadership

Pastors Ken & Valencia Peters

What will our society be like in twenty years?  What will our homes be like in that same period of time?  What type of person will be coming out of our high schools and universities in the next decade?  These are tough questions that need to be addressed.

Ever since the creation of man, there has been a need to educate people correctly. Adam's first assignment was to name all the animals so that future generations would be able to identify all that God had created.  From this initial assignment man began the process of passing knowledge (education) from one generation to the next.

Today however, we find ourselves reeling from more than four decades of moral decline in society.  We are in a post-modernistic society that believes there are no moral absolutes and truth is relative. The bible says in John chapter 8 verse 31 and 32 that if we abide in His word then we shall know the truth and the truth shall set us free. My bible says that truth is truth and there are moral absolutes.  This is what we need to teach our children.

Many experts claim that education is the only hope for tomorrow. However, the education system now in place has legislated God and His word from the classroom. Therefore, all the efforts to improve the educational programs have only led to further problems and greater frustrations for many parents.

Although schools are not specifically mentioned in the bible, they have become a part of the fabric of today's society.  Therefore, Christians must determine just how the school is to fit into God's scheme of education.  It is my belief that we cannot separate the school from the home or the church and be successful, from God's perspective, when it comes to the education of today's children and youth.

This is why Covenant Christian School exists.  We want to partner with parents of Christian faith so we can together reach this generation for the Kingdom of God. By doing so, we will raise up a generation of students that will impact the world.
